PM2.5 Forecast for Beijing – Saturday, February 1, 2014

Saturday looks like another day for poor air quality in Beijing.  We should see high AQI numbers overnight, but the pollution should decrease somewhat in the early morning hours.  Although it is unlikely, we cannot rule out the possibility that we could drop as low as Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups in the morning.  More likely, we will drop into Unhealthy for a period of time, then we will see increasing pollution from just after noon through the remainder of the day.

EXTENDED FORECAST

SUNDAY, February 2:  Sunday should bring us good air quality again.  The current forecast gives us weather conditions that should leave us with clear skies sometime between 9AM and 2PM.

MONDAY, February 3:  The good air quality should continue for nearly the entire day on Monday.  We could see rising PM2.5 levels late in the day, but likely not until after sunset.

TUESDAY, February 4: The run of good air could last for a few hours on Tuesday, but we should see deteriorating air quality after noon at the latest.
