PM2.5 Forecast for Beijing – Thursday, May 8, 2014

We're expecting to be back to poor air quality on Thursday.  Look for increasing AQI levels in the morning, taking us up to Unhealthy or the lower ranges of Very Unhealthy, but we should see some reduction in the pollution in the afternoon, possibly as low as Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

EXTENDED FORECAST

FRIDAY, May 9:  Friday’s weather forecast leaves us with a decent amount of uncertainty as to the pollution.  It’s safe to say that we should not see AQI readings any higher than Unhealthy, and there is also a chance of seeing better than average air quality.  We’ll monitor the weather forecasts and see if the forecast becomes more clear in the next day.

SATURDAY, May 10:  We’re expecting about average conditions for Beijing on Saturday.  We should see Unhealthy conditions for most of the day and a chance at improved air quality in the afternoon.

SUNDAY, May 11:  We have another chance of good air quality on Sunday afternoon.  Although the day should start off with poor air quality, that could drop to Good or Moderate AQI readings in the late morning or early afternoon.
